Design inspiration

Akari pendant lamp is the modern transformation of Japanese paper lanterns by sculptor Yukio Noguchi. The first light was designed by Noguchi in Gifu, Japan in 1951, inspired by the traditional lanterns used by local fishermen during night fishing in changliangchuan.
